About Sashani

Hello. I’m Sashani, the driving force behind ShaniVision, where we champion the art of storytelling to transcend the ordinary and spark the imagination. My path from the beautiful island of Jamaica to the entertainment hub of Los Angeles, California, has been marked by memorable roles and creative collaborations.

A pivotal moment in my acting career was my role in Lifetime’s hit “A Christmas Winter Song,” where I had the privilege of performing alongside industry giants Stan Shaw and Grammy winner Ashanti. Under the insightful direction of Camille Brown and brought to life through a screenplay by Melissa Bustamante, which garnered an NAACP Image Award nomination, this film stands as a testament to the collaborative spirit and the impact of shared stories.

Film is more than a medium to me—it’s a mission. A mission to break barriers, illuminate the overlooked, and weave the threads of diverse voices into the grand tapestry of cinema. ShaniVision is the vessel for this mission, a sanctuary where creativity is unleashed and stories from the shadows step into the light.

“Dreams on Miracle Street,” a play I penned and am now adapting into a film, is a direct manifestation of this mission. It marks a significant step in my journey from stage to screen, embodying my commitment to bringing vibrant, untold stories to a broader audience.

My foundation in TV and Film, Musical Theater, and Dance from Eastern Michigan University has endowed me with a multifaceted perspective on storytelling. This background not only enriches my acting but also informs my broader creative vision as I navigate writing, producing, and directing within ShaniVision.
